Dancing Backwards

How silly we must have looked serving insults and returning shade,

Laughing at our promiscuity hearing, “those two should be ashamed.”

Staring at each other forgetting to hold hands and manipulating each other so the need has more demand.

Watching TV only to find we’ve become the couch, with all the seating available how did that come about?

Looking in prospective directions of the goals we want to walk toward, pulling each other together and away by dancing backwards.

There are a number of ways to describe myself but none will ever do justice if any were actually due. My history tells it all and can be best summed by this quote. "...it is not you that is mortal but your body. You are not what your physical shape reveals, but each person is his mind, not the body that a finger can point at." Cicero, On The Commonwealth (54 BCE)
